The 39th annual spring hawk count is off and running with new( to Braddock Bay) counter Ryan MacLean. While early March tends to be cold and miserable here in the Rochester area, we were certainly treated to an amazingly warm day on Wednesday, March 9. Not only were temperatures in the 70s on the platform, we also experienced some lovely southwest wind which brought the first 3-digit day our way with a total of 456 raptors!  Among them were 208 Turkey Vultures, 154 Red-Tails, 31 Red-Shoulders, 12 Rough-Legs and our first Goshawk of the season.
